Ask Jackie: Unexpected Blessings
May 25th, 2012
Dear Dillon
You are eleven years old and have touched so many lives so far. Do you even realize it? Do you even see how God is using you? You are such a blessing to our family and to others that know you. It’s because of you that we have met such wonderful people. You have opened my eyes to see many things. One of the things that you have made me see is the mistreatment of others in your situation. It breaks my heart when someone gets bullied because they are considered to be different. But then when we are at New Friends I get to see so many wonderful teens that are your advocates and that love you for who you are and what you mean to them. I get to see so many people that live in God’s love that want to help you and others because they want to and not because they need to. You are a true gift and I am going to share you with this world and hopefully it will change a little for the better. But, it’s not about me and my dreams for you and it’s not about you and your legacy to leave, rather, it’s about Jesus and His love for us and how we are supposed to live and treat others.
I love you my sweet boy.

Jackie,
I recently read the wonderful article about your family in the latest “Forward in Christ”. And, after happening upon the Lutheran Home Association website and your blog tonite, I felt compelled to send you a quick message!
Thank you for sharing your story! Dillon, you, and your entire family are truly an inspiration. In fact, you have inspired me to become more involved in the Jesus Cares Ministries at our church here in West Bend!
Thank you again and may God continue to bless you all!
