My Sisters in Christ – Another Blessing

I have met some pretty amazing women! We were gathered at the Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society (LWMS) meeting at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Creek, WI. My co-workers, Bill, Jim, and I had the opportunity to share with them all about Jesus Cares Ministries and the News Friends Program. I absolutely loved listening to them share the experiences they have had because of Jesus Cares Ministries and how much of an impact it has had on each of them personally.  It is a tremendous blessing, the amount of lives that have been touched by God, through them. For me, there is nothing more empowering than getting together with women who have all been on the same journey, each with different life challenges.

When I was up in front of the church, sharing my story with all the ladies, I made eye contact with one woman in particular.  Just by the look in her eyes, I could tell, “She has been there.  I have felt what she has felt”. When I spoke with her afterwards, she shared with me that she has an adult son with Down Syndrome, and that by listening to me speak, she relived her life’s journey. She also told me, that with God’s help, everything will be okay.

Another woman also approached me before leaving.  She expressed that she completely understood what I meant, when I said, “I just can’t do this anymore and I don’t want to do this anymore.”  She then told me that my life is not mine to live the way I want to live it and that I was bought and paid for at a price.  I needed to hear that and she is absolutely right. It is truly by God’s Grace that He gave me Dillon and my boys.  And because of Dillon, we have all been tremendously blessed!

We know and feel God’s unconditional love in an abundance of ways.  It’s His love that I want to share with others, and it’s His love that continues to give me the strength to do so, even when I feel like I can’t go on.
