Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for us!
We work to match your interests and abilities where they are most needed. We invite youth groups, church groups, civic organizations and our neighbors to come and make a difference. You’ll be glad you did, and so will our residents and team members!
Why volunteer?
- It’s good for you! It reduces stress and makes you healthier.
- Volunteers gain experience. For instance, you can test out a career.
- It brings people together and helps form friendships.
- You feel productive and needed.
- You get the chance to give back to your community or to a cause that’s important to you.
- And the number one reason, you can make a difference!
Volunteer at our locations
We have program called “Caring Hearts” starting at The Lutheran Home Campus in Belle Plaine.

Kingsway Community Services
Kingsway Community Services offers a unique combination of advanced technology and community-based support services designed to help older adults remain independent in their homes. As a volunteer, you will provide a broad range of services to older adults including:
- meal preparation
- transportation
- chore services
- companionship
As individuals age, these tasks become more challenging which may require an older adult to move to a retirement community if they are unable to find assistance for these tasks. You will provide older adults assistance with these tasks and support they need to maintain independence and enjoy living in the comfort of their own home.
Kingsway Community Services volunteers can take great pride in being a part of a project that will help shape the future of the long term health care system. The state and federal governments will be studying the success of the Kingsway Community Services project to use to further implement our successes within other programs.
