How you’ve helped Jesus Cares Ministries bridge the gap during the pandemic
The restrictions and obstacles of the last year have brought challenges for us all. But for men and women with intellectual disabilities, the pandemic has been particularly tough. For so many, the disruption and changes have been both difficult to understand and hard to endure.
That’s why the team at Jesus Cares Ministries (JCM) has been working tirelessly to keep sharing the hope and comfort of Christ, even throughout the long months of the pandemic.
“Our goal is to share God’s Word with as many individuals as possible,” says Pastor Gaertner. “We continue to do our best to make that happen.”
And wonderfully, this has been made possible through your support! Thanks to friends like you, JCM has taken the special Worship at the Cross services online, as well as making DVDs available.
“This has been really well received,” says Jill Kirk who heads up the JCM program at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Bemidji, Minnesota. “At one of our homes, three residents have limited verbal skills and are unable to express that they would like to watch things online. But they can pick up a DVD and hand it to the staff, requesting to watch it. They sit together watching. They love worshiping God in that way.”
