The Lutheran Home: Belle Plaine announces new Director of Nursing and Social Services
The Lutheran Home: Belle Plaine (TLHA), a skilled nursing facility in Belle Plaine, Minnesota, welcomed two new team members: Becky Johnston and Krista Gowans. Both joined our care community in March.
“We are excited to welcome Becky and Krista,” said Jacqueline Grimm, regional director of senior services for Minnesota and administrator for The Lutheran Home: Belle Plaine. “Their proven leadership abilities provide invaluable knowledge and experience that will continue to showcase TLHA as a quality Christian care community.”
Becky Johnston will serve as social services director. In this role, Becky evaluate and assess the cognitive, psychosocial, emotional, and wellbeing of the residents. She will work provide direct support to residents and their family members including admission and discharge planning, care planning, and care conferences.
Becky received her bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation and human services from the University of North Dakota. She also has experience working as a case manager and program coordinator with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Krista Gowans will join the team as director of nursing and will be responsible for residents’ nursing care, communicating with residents and family members, working with physicians, and coordinating staff.
For the past five years, Krista has served as director of nursing for an assisted living community in Mankato. Her history also includes positions as minimum data set (MDS) coordinator, assistant director of nursing, and director of nursing in skilled nursing facilities.
“Senior care has always been my passion,” says Krista. “I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve at TLHA and look forward to being a part of their team.”
