State-of-the-Art Upgrade at St. Michael’s
Earlier this year, St. Michael’s replaced and upgraded our call system with state-of-the-art equipment. The new wireless system allows us to enhance the safety of residents. Highlights of the new system include:
- The system uses pendants that allow us to identify the location of residents anytime and anywhere in our community, even outside!
- The new call light system will integrate with our wanderer prevention system, allowing us to take full advantage of its safety capabilities.
- Team members will carry pagers to alert them of call needs. No need to return to the nurses’ station to see who is calling.
The update will eliminate intrusive, disruptive call light sounds and will enhance a peaceful environment to make it feel more like home.
As a final piece of the remodeling for the new system, we create a media and library nook for the residents. Residents learned to “surf the web.”
“This new system is a great asset for our caregiving team,” explained Tiffany Olson, administrator. “It will benefit everyone who lives or works here.”
