Are You Alive, Say, “Thank You!”

Rev. Roger Woller November 27, 2025

In that day you will say: Give thanks to the Lord! Proclaim his name. Declare among the peoples what he has done. Proclaim that his name is exalted! Isaiah 12:4

Is there a reason that you will want to say, “Thank You!”?   If you are reading this devotion, you are still alive, that is a reason to say, “Thank You!”    The Christian who is still living on this side of eternity says “Thank You!”.  The faithful believer in Jesus, the Christian, knows with certainly that when life on this side of eternity comes to an end they pass over to eternity, heaven.  Why is that true?  It is because of what God our heavenly father has done for us.

The prophet Isaiah had prophesied; Therefore the Lord himself will give a sign for all of you. Look! The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son and name him Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14).   That prophesy was fulfilled when Jesus was born.  Jesus, Immanuel, God with us, our Savior was born, lived and died to pay for all of our sins.  For that reason we say, “Thank You!”.

Countless times Jesus has had to say about us, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”  Luke 23:34.   Say, “Thank You!”

When our last hour in this life comes, we might wonder what is going to happen to me, a poor wretched sinner?  We then hear Jesus say, “Amen I tell you: Today you will be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:43.   Say, “Thank You!”

You and I want all people to have the same hope as we do.   Doesn’t it just make you feel joyful that you are going to heaven, forgiven and righteous in God’s sight because of what Jesus has done for you.  Give thanks to the Lord! Proclaim his name. Declare among the peoples what he has done.    Say, “Thank You!”

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below.
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.  Amen.
