Our Joyful Security this Easter
You don’t have to turn very far these days to hear conversations, debates or even arguments about security. It seems just about everywhere you look or turn, there are discussions on school security, airport security, border security and probably a few more similar discussions. Sadly, none of these discussions are a happy conversation.
What a blessing that as we gather at the empty tomb this Easter morning we are assured of a joyful conversation about security. Security of something far more important that schools, airports or borders – our eternal soul.
Hundreds of years before the first Easter, the Psalmist wrote these words.
“I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” (Psalm 16:8-11)
These words give us joyful Easter confidence in the eternal security of our soul. They remind us of simple truths which guarantee the eternal security of our soul as we celebrate our Lord’s resurrection. Because of Jesus’ resurrection we can know that our soul is safe for all eternity because God is with us, God will raise us and God will bless us.
As you celebrate Easter as the cornerstone of your Christian faith may you live today and every day confident of that joyful Easter security for your soul!
