Painting to support St. Michael’s

Every year, St. Michael’s Assisted Living team leaders look for fun ways to thank their “friends.” Most recently, the community hosted a “Wine and Canvas” night with the help of BackYard Brushes, a company located in Winona, Minn. Each painter was given an apron, a variety of paintbrushes and a blank canvas ready to create a masterpiece.
The painting for the evening featured a nighttime scene. In the middle, there was a woman with a brightly colored umbrella and dress. Sylvia, of BackYard Brushes, led the group and provided step by step verbal directions and painted along.
“The painting was only as hard as you allowed it to be, we were our own worst critics,” said Tiffany Olson, Administrator at St. Michael’s.
Mark Hayes, TLHA Vice President of Mission Advancement, attended and participated in the occasion.
“I enjoy connecting with “friends” at events like this. It gives me a chance to see St. Michael’s through the eyes of the people right in our backyard and learn more about what is important to them,” Mark said.
“Friends of St. Michaels” events have included chocolate and wine pairing event, boat rides on the Mississippi River and educational wine tasting. Interested in becoming a “friend” and supporting St. Michael’s Assisted Living? Contact Tiffany Olson at (608) 468-6380.
