Cedar Haven forms new partnership with Friesen’s Family Bakery
The Lutheran Home: Cedar Haven has a mission to share Christ’s love while serving the spiritual, physical, intellectual and emotional needs of people entrusted to our care and others whose lives we touch.

With this in mind, Cedar Haven recently announced a new partnership with Friesen’s Family Bakery and Bistro to supply the majority of meals to the residents.
Elli Fuller, administrator at Cedar Haven, was able to meet with the owners of Friesen’s Bakery to discuss the possibility of a partnership.
“I felt Friesen’s mission as soon as I walked through their doors. There is such a strong sense of community and I knew immediately that this was the right fit for Cedar Haven,” she said. “Of course, the delicious aromas of baked goods and savory soups filling the air helped too!”

The partnership is the first of its kind for both Cedar Haven and Friesen’s. As the second month begins, there have been few inevitable bumps but overall it has been a wonderful experience. Friesen’s has been responsive to resident tastes and preferences while adjusting their recipes accordingly.
Friesen’s uses locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Favorite meals include the barbecued ribs, oven roasted yams and homemade turkey noodle soup.
