Working in a Christian atmosphere

Marketing December 22, 2017

LFor Lynnea Libra, every day at work brings a unique experience but one thing remains a constant – the Christian atmosphere.

“I hear a Bible lesson and the Lord’s Prayer most days. Religious activities are important to the residents. It’s wonderful to work somewhere where my spiritually blends in with my work and is accepted,” she said.

Lynnea joined the team in 2003. Throughout the years, she has changed positions several times. She has served as a MDS Coordinator, a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), a Nursing Assistant and now a LPN/SCR Clinical Coordinator.

Lynnea is continuing her education online through Presentation College, based in Aberdeen, SD. She is on track to graduate as a Registered Nurse in August. To help with the financial side, Lynnea was recently awarded the first Joyce Pladson Fadden Memorial Scholarship.

“It was wonderful to receive the scholarship because Joyce was one of the residents I had memorable moments with. Working on the overnight shift, I was able to spend time comforting her one on one,” she explained. “Those memorable moments are why I enjoy working in the caregiving field. It’s rewarding to be there for our residents and their families, especially in times of need. I am very grateful to her Gaulke family for selecting me. With the scholarship, I was able to purchase all my books and an extra set of scrubs for my clinicals.”
