A night out on the town

DSC06029More than a dozen residents from The Lutheran Home: Belle Plaine enjoyed a night out during the National Night Out event hosted by the Belle Plaine Police Department in August. National Night Out is celebrated by police departments across the nation and is a unique crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch.

Residents watched the medical helicopter land and take off from Heritage Square, took photos and visited with Belle Plaine police officers and enjoyed a picnic dinner with an ice cream treat. Resident Richard Milke had to opportunity to try taekwondo and board breaking during the event

DSC06035“There were a lot of smiles from our residents,” said Kari Rose, Therapeutic Recreation Director. “The group enjoyed being able to attend a community wide event and interact with the Belle Plaine police officers.”
