Peace on Earth

Rev. Ed Fredrich December 6, 2019

The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)

Peace, what an important word. It represents an important idea and truth. The world is always looking for “peace.” There are many avenues to take. Often the majority of them result in a dead end. Look at the peace God offers. It “surpasses all understanding.” On those days when stress is threatening or worries are harassing, there is the peace of God.

It is based one of the most important truths, Jesus Christ, the Son of God who came to earth as our brother. The One, who went to the cross and conquered death and the devil, is the One who guards our hearts and minds with peace. As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, it is the peace of God that fills us with the joy that nothing can take from us.

We pray: Lord, thank you for the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding that guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amen.
