The Lutheran Home Association appoints Mark Hayes as President and Chief Executive Officer

The Lutheran Home Association (TLHA), a national non-profit health care and disability ministry, announced the appointment of Mark Hayes, currently TLHA’s President of Ministry, as Chief Executive Officer.

He is responsible for leading TLHA in all aspects of the ministry. He will oversee the finances and operations for the ministry’s care communities as well as supervising chaplaincy, mission advancement, and Jesus Cares Ministries.

Hayes began in May 2022 in the Interim CEO position at TLHA while continuing his position as the President of Ministry. Hayes has a rich background in outreach, strategic planning, ministry development, and leadership. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern College in Watertown, Wis., and a Master of Divinity from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wis. Prior to joining TLHA, he served as pastor in Colorado for 14 years and more recently as a production supervisor for Ideal Industries.

“In his time at TLHA, Mark has demonstrated his skills and talents for effective leadership,” said Pastor Matthew Rauh, Vice Chairman of the Board at TLHA, “He demonstrates a clear passion for the Gospel and for the mission of TLHA, where the care of the soul is the soul of care.”

Mark will continue to work closely with the board of directors and leadership team at The Lutheran Home Association.

“I am honored to take on this leadership role at TLHA ensuring our ministry will be able to continue to provide quality Christian care to seniors and those with special needs,” shared Hayes. “I look forward to continuing to work with the leaders and staff of our Christian care communities.”
