The Lutheran Home Association welcomes new leadership
BELLE PLAINE, MINN. July 18, 2016 — The Lutheran Home Association, a national non-profit health care and disability ministry, welcomed Mary Sue Meger as Chief Financial Officer and Mark Hayes as Associate Vice President of Mission Advancement.
Meger is an educated finance professional with accounting, leadership and growth experience. She is a certified public accountant (CPA). Meger earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. Prior to joining TLHA, Meger worked for Boyer and Company.
Meger is responsible for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of TLHA and Jesus Cares Ministries (JCM). Her responsibilities include accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, legal, property management, investor relationships and partnership compliance.
“Mary Sue brings extensive experience and she’s a leader who exemplifies TLHA’s core values: respect, resilience and integrity,” said Michael Klatt, president and chief executive officer of TLHA. “She has a proven track record of managing and leading. Under her guidance we will strengthen our financial operations. We are excited to have her join our team.”
Hayes joins the TLHA leadership team as associate vice president of mission advancement. Hayes has a rich background in outreach, strategic planning, ministry development and leadership. Hayes received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from Northwestern College in Watertown, Wis. and a Master of Divinity degree from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wis. Prior to joining TLHA, Hayes served as pastor in Colo. for 14 years and more recently as a supervisor for a production company.
Hayes is responsible for leading TLHA and JCM’s mission advancement program. The mission advancement office supports our ministrys mission and vision to share eternal hope, provide hope and inspire hope. Hayes’ responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships, fundraising, managing mission advancement infrastructure and ministry outreach.
“Mark’s education and experience fits with the core of our ministry,” said Klatt. “He is uniquely positioned to lead the mission advancement office and drive engagement with our residents, family members, donors and team members.”
“Mark brings to the mission advancement role vision and passion for our ministry,” said Rev. Joel Gaertner, vice president of ministry and national director of Jesus Cares Ministries (JCM). “We look forward to drawing on his ministry experience as we continue to serve seniors and individuals with disabilities.”
Meger and Hayes will work closely with the board of directors and leadership team at The Lutheran Home Association.
