A child of God shines bright on Earth and now in Heaven

Hope Residence October 18, 2021

Have you ever met anyone in whom you could visibly see the love of God? Throughout this life, God’s love surrounded John Harmening. For nine years, John called Hope Residence home until God called him to his eternal home in Heaven.

As his last earthly home, Hope Residence was a safe place for John. Team members showed him care, compassion, dedication, and love.

With John’s family members living out of state, they relied on Rhonda, John’s program manager at Hope, and her team to care for their loved one.

Recently, we received a letter from his family members. With their permission, we’d like to share what they had to say.

The letter starts with:

“Rhonda was our main staff contact for John, and we were all impacted by her overall knowledge of John and the compassion she consistently showed to him and us. She is a very caring human being and, we believe, a definite asset to Hope Residence.”

Rhonda spent many hours in the hospital with John during his final days. She brought him McDonald’s food and made sure that he was comfortable.

The letter continues:

“She was involved in all care conferences we had with the doctors at the hospital and helped to make John’s last days as tolerable as could ever be expected. We will be forever thankful for her presence in John’s life.”

Daily, Rhonda and all team members at Hope show care, compassion, dedication, and love to all residents.
