Chaplains share the hope of Jesus—thanks to friends like you

Wellhaven Senior Living April 26, 2021

When Pastor Kenley Mann goes on his rounds visiting residents at Wellhaven Senior Living [River Falls, Wis.], he often takes two things along with him: his Bible and a cribbage board.

Pastor Mann finds that playing card games is a great way to open up conversation and build relationships with the residents—which in time brings opportunities to share deeper things of life and faith.

That’s what happened with one senior named Nick. Their friendship began over a game of cribbage, and before long, Pastor Mann was able to share the hope of salvation in Christ!

After a long season of ill health, Nick was called home to heaven in May 2020. Today his legacy lives on—it’s Nick’s cribbage board that Pastor Mann carries on his visits today, as he seeks more opportunities to share Jesus!

Your support for The Lutheran Home Association means that chaplains like Pastor Mann can make around 1,700 resident visits every month. Thank you for helping share the Gospel with so many in need of God’s love!
