Connected through Prayer Requests
“But God has surely listened and has heard my prayer.” (Psalm 66:19)
There is a specific time within Jesus Cares Ministries Worship at the Cross services for attendees to request prayers, and worship organizers discussed how this could be accomplished during Facebook Live’s online streamed services. The answer was simple: attendees could use the comments box. Throughout the live services, Staff Minister Michael Hennig encourages online watchers to leave prayer requests in the comments. This method has worked well. During each live service, viewers can see each other’s prayer requests, and Staff Minister Michael can share the prayers directly with the Lord.
Moriah, a 13-year-old who has cerebral palsy, and her dad, Pastor Patrick Feldhus (also one of our JCM consultants and chaplain at Hope Residence), often share their prayers in the comments section. [Watch Staff Minister Michael Hennig share Moriah’s prayer requests.]

“She gets excited when the service begins,” her dad explained. “But her excitement goes through the roof when Staff Minister Michael says her name and fulfills her prayer request.”
During most services, the same group of individuals are gathered online while sharing prayer requests and getting to know one another.
“It is amazing to see how this service connects Moriah with people all over the world,” said Pastor Patrick.
Moriah, along with other JCM participants, greatly benefits from Worship at the Cross ONLINE and the other online resources available.
“She can never get enough of God’s Word. JCM’s online resources are beneficial to Moriah and help her connect to people she would otherwise not have any connection with until she meets them in heaven,” said Pastor Patrick. “We have rewatched the online services on many occasions, since it is a way to help her calm down.”
Join us in the comments section! Worship at the Cross ONLINE services are hosted at 6 p.m. (CST) on the second Tuesday and fourth Sunday of each month on the Jesus Cares Ministries Facebook page. Previously streamed services are available on demand at myjesuscares.com or the Jesus Cares Ministries YouTube page.
