Exercise Bike Donation Benefits All Wellhaven Tenants

Calling Wellhaven Senior Living “home” has many benefits. Within our care community, tenants have access to a variety of amenities to make their lives more enjoyable.
Wellhaven tenant Don Matzek recently donated the funds to purchase a NuStep, which is a stationary bike with a low profile, so it is easy for seniors to get on and off.
Using the bike provides both a cardiovascular and strength workout. Don calls the bike “the best piece of exercise equipment for seniors available.” Don, and several other Wellhaven tenants, were familiar with the equipment after using it at their physical therapy appointments.
“We are so grateful for Don’s donation of this equipment,” said Laura Swanson, activities and marketing coordinator at Wellhaven.
Wellhaven team members rearranged key areas of the community to fit in the NuStep. To complete the workout area, team members are hoping to add other exercise equipment. Plans include adding light dumbbells, posters on proper stretching, and more.
The library and our book collection have been moved to the Fireside Lounge. The new location provides a small private area for tenants to read in a quiet place.
“Overall, moving the library and adding the workout space are new amenities available within our care community,” explained Beth Ann Schultz, manager at Wellhaven. “We love being able to provide a place for our residents to stay in shape.”
At Wellhaven, we believe our tenants can live an active, fulfilling, and socially enriching lifestyle at any age, which is why we are continuing to welcome new tenants.
