Flipping up some fun

In honor of National Pancake Day, on Feb. 25, St. Michael’s residents and team members flipped up some fun. During the Pancake party, the group participated in a variety of activities with the classic breakfast food.

Only using one hand, two people, residents or team members, would race each other to see who could stack five plastic pancakes and a small butter pad more quickly. Surrounded by fellow residents and team members, the group would encourage the two competitors.

With an oversized spatula, one team member tossed a large pancake over her shoulder. Standing on the other side of the dining room, a second team member with a cookie sheet would try to catch the pancake. Following all the fun and games, everyone enjoyed a buffet of pancakes for lunch.

“Hosting this party allowed us to celebrate the simple item of a pancake,” explained Tiffany Olson, Administrator at St. Michael’s.  “Celebrating these types of holidays allow us to have a special day and a great time doing silly activities with large pancakes.”
