Hope residents compete in Special Olympics
Six Hope residents were among the 150 Special Olympics participants from southern Minnesota ready to compete on Sunday, May 6 at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter.
“It’s always fun spending the day outside and I like competing against other people,” said Heather, Hope resident and participant.
During the most recent Special Olympics competition, Hope residents competed in the softball throw, tennis ball throw, 25 meter walk, 25 meter wheelchair race and 25 and 50 meter dash.
“It’s such a fun day, I enjoy being outside and doing the softball throw and my race,” said Gloria, Hope resident and participant.
All athletes participating received ribbons for each event.
