Online worship services support an in-person JCM program

Jesus Cares Ministries (JCM) thrives on relationships. Through local programs, our friends with special needs can form relationships with one another, volunteers, pastors, and most importantly, the Lord.

More recently, a group of JCM participants from Shawano, Wis. have formed a relationship with someone they have never met in person. Divine Savior Lutheran Church, in Shawano, has been without a pastor for nearly five months. During this time, the JCM program has continued to meet using online videos of our Worship at the Cross services.

These services, led by Michael Hennig (staff minister at St. Mark Ministries in De Pere, Wis), are shared live on the JCM Facebook page each month. Following the premiere, videos of the services are made available on the JCM YouTube channel for anyone to watch at any time.

“Our participants enjoy the services and feel they know Michael almost personally now,” explained Gale Blum, program leader. “They often make comments explaining how they like him and how nice he is.”

The JCM team is always excited to learn and share a great example of how online services serve many roles.

“Within the past three years, there have been many times that we suggest using online services. We are grateful that we can continue to reach our friends with special needs with God’s love.” explained Rev. Joel Gaertner, National Director of JCM.
