Recognizing St. Michael’s volunteers
St. Michael’s hosted a volunteer appreciation breakfast and lunch to express gratitude and recognize our hard working volunteers. Volunteers provide irreplaceable support by enhancing activity programming and assisting with events such as the Butterfly Release and the BBQ Chicken Cook Off.
“Volunteers spend one on one time with residents,” said Tiffany Olson, Administrator at St. Michael’s, “They assist with crafts and games, read the local newspaper, provide transportation to appointments, assist with community outings and so much more.”
During the meal, volunteers had the opportunity to meet and visit with each other. Volunteers were also thanked for their efforts which help make St. Michael’s a wonderful place to call home.
“When our volunteers feel appreciated and important, they are more likely to feel connected to the residents of St. Michael’s and continue their involvement,” explained Tiffany, “Having our volunteers feel appreciated and needed allows us to see a number of positive effects including increased resident participation and socialization.”
