Special Olympics: Residents compete in bocce
Three residents, Sean O., Gloria P. and Heather T., earned medals at the Special Olympics bocce state competition held at HealthEast Sports Center in Woodbury. In preparation, all competitors practiced weekly. Hope Residents practices were held at Heritage Park in Belle Plaine.
In order to compete at the state level, athlete must have competed at the area level first.
“It was a long day but I had a great time,” explained Sean, “I have been doing this for a few years and I enjoy it each year.”
