Celebrating Christmas at Wellhaven
More than 100 guests, including Santa Claus, attended the Wellhaven Senior Christmas Party on December 11.
The festivities were planned by the River Falls Senior Center and hosted by Wellhaven Senior Living. The party included a four course meal and following dinner, Santa Claus, played by Wellhaven tenant, Ray Nelson, gave out free hugs and drew names for door prizes. Next up was the Christmas carol sing-along presented by Wellhaven Chaplain Kenley Mann.
“They passed out lyrics to all the songs,” explained Laura Swanson, Wellhaven Activities Coordinator. “It was a festive activity everyone could participate in while spreading the true meaning of Christmas.”
“O Christmas Tree” and “The Twelve Days of Christmas” were carols sung by the group. “I explained the meanings to each of the Twelve Days of Christmas. For example, the four calling birds references for the four Gospels and the two turtle doves stands for the Old and New Testaments,” explained Pastor Mann.
Christmas carols help us to remember the fact that God is for us. The praise we sing in carols helps us to realize just how gracious and powerful this God is.
