Hope DSP enjoys variety her role includes
Joyce Koepp will celebrate four years working at Hope Residence in March. Joyce works on the day shift as a full time Direct Support Professional (DSP). Joyce is responsible for providing supervision and guidance for residents, assisting with daily living activities and providing transportation to events or outings in the community. Joyce enjoys the variety of skills needed to fulfill her role.
“You have to know all the cares. You need to know how to be a cook, a beautician, a manicurist or a psychologist on any given day,” she explained.
While in her position, she has become close with fellow team member Sierra Andrews.
“Everything you can think of that is great is Joyce. She does more than expected because she cares that much. She is always helpful,” Sierra said.
In her position, many Hope residents have become fond of Joyce.
“Joyce is always very helpful and understanding. She is a great listener and is wonderful at what she does. I really enjoy when she is working,” said Hope resident Derik Wolf.
“I like her, she is great. I wish she could be my one-on-one, so we could work together more,” said Hope resident Jacob Bartles.
“Joyce is a very caring individual that treats our residents like they are her family. She is constantly bringing in items for the residents that she thinks they would like. She works well with her team members and is a leader in our living area,” Rhonda said, Program Manager and colleague.
