Hope Residence names Ashley Manthe Director of Nursing
BELLE PLAINE, MINN. October 19, 2016 — Hope Residence, a ministry of The Lutheran Home Association, has named long-time team member Ashley Manthe, RN, LPN, as its new Director of Nursing.
Hope Residence provides an extensive array of services to support and enhance the lives of residents dealing with disabilities such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, ataxia and epilepsy. As Director of Nursing, Manthe will oversee the medical care needs of residents as well as supervising team members. Manthe also teaches CPR and First Aid to the team at Hope Residence.
Manthe has worked at Hope Residence since 2001. She started her career there as a Direct Support Professional, then advanced to Trained Medication Aide. Manthe later graduated from the Practical Nursing program at Hennepin Technical College and became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), going on to earn a Registered Nurse (RN) associate’s degree at Rasmussen College.
Hope Residence offered a flexible schedule as Manthe pursued additional education in the nursing field and evolved in her career. Naming her as Director of Nursing puts a familiar face in the role.
“Ashley has a great working relationship with team members, her coworkers, supervisors, residents and family members. I look forward to working with Ashley as the Director of Nursing,” said Debra Wilbright, Administrator at Hope Residence and Director of Disability Services for The Lutheran Home Association.
An aspiring nurse from a young age, Manthe has always enjoyed engaging with clients who have special needs.
“Since I first started here, I just kind of knew it was my calling to work at Hope,” she said. “It’s really fulfilling. You really feel like you’re doing something meaningful.”
Manthe graduated from Belle Plaine High School and resides in Belle Plaine. Outside work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children.
