Colored worksheets benefit JCM bible study
When Pastor Paul Kuehn leads a Jesus Cares Ministries (JCM) bible study, the scene is pretty typical. He stands in the middle of the group surrounded by students seated and he uses a felt board to help tell the bible story.

In front of each student rests a packet of papers with 6 to 8 different sheets of paper. Each sheet is a different color. But this has been done on purpose.
Pastor Paul explained, “While using the colored sheets, the students are able to find the sheets faster and we are able to move from one section from the class to the next smoothly.”

Pastor Paul and the JCM volunteers at Divine Savior in Shawano, WI, have discovered if each paper is a different color, students have an easier time finding the correct worksheet or story page.
While the group has been using the different colored sheets method for a long time, they continue to add more. Rather than using a Power Point, everything the student needs is in hard copy in their hands. Sometimes Pastor Paul uses a specific colored sheet to coordinate with the church season.
“You can talk about what the color means and what it reminds us of and sometimes that can be a good tie into the lesson,” he said.

The different colored sheets provide an easy to ensure the bible study continues smoothly.
