The chaplains of The Lutheran Home Association are the lifeblood of our ministry. For as long as we have been in existence, chaplains have provided worship, devotions and Christian counseling to our residents and team members. We are delighted to share their words of encouragement and comfort from God’s Word with you in this collection of meditations for your devotional life.

Begin a devotion plan today.

Three-day plans

  • Always Trust the Lord: The stresses of daily life can quickly wear on someone making them feel overwhelmed. When feeling that way, we can look to the Lord.
  • Confidence In Christ: Devotions focus on how we benefit from knowing and understanding the confidence we should have in the Lord.
  • Live in the Light: As his children, we shine the light of Christ by serving and gaining opportunities to proclaim the forgiveness that Christ won for all of us.
  • Live The Revolution: Devotions uses historical examples to show how God’s word has an impact on our lives.
  • Prayer Is a Blessing: In most relationships, good communication is vital. This remains true for our relationship with God. When we come to God in prayer, He will hear us and answer us.

Four-day plans

  • Finding Our Faith: As we live our lives, our faith continues to grow. Family and friends provide wonderful examples of the impact of true faith.
  • Look to the Future: No matter how hard life gets; we can cling to the Lord. He promises to forgive us, love us, hold us, and stay by our side. Placing our hope in God is our best option.
  • Prepare Your Heart for Advent: The 4-weeks leading up to Christmas help us get ready for the birth of our Savior. Experience hope, faith, joy, and peace as you read
  • Victory Over Sin: When thinking about our sins, we often remember the familiar line in the Lord’s Prayer: “Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.” With God’s grace through Jesus, we have a victory over sin.

Five-day plans

  • God’s Word Always Applies: There are many ways we can consider God’s Word. These devotions give insight to we can follow and understand while reading the Bible.
  • How God’s Promises Are Delivered: Using scripture, we are shown how God uses his wisdom and power to deliver on His promises at a time of His choosing.
  • Lessons From History: Learning and understanding a lesson through a real-life example is always easier. This Plan combines some historical events and devotional topics.
  • Light Of The World: With God in our lives, we have everything we need to shine bright on even our darkest days.
  • The Impacts Of God’s Blessings: With Jesus as our greatest treasure, we can be content and see all the earthly treasures as they truly are…blessings from our Father.

Six-day plans

  • God’s Christmas Gift to the World: On Christmas, Christians rejoice in the birth of Jesus, their Savior. Christmas is a time of celebration where we are blessed to see the fulfillment of God’s promise, giving us his only Son as our Savior.
  • Sharing the Good News as a Disciple of Jesus: Our love and faith in Jesus moves us to share the gospel with joyful enthusiasm. As Christians and disciples of Jesus, we are called to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

Seven-day plans

  • Make Every Day Count: Life is simply too short to keep the good news of Jesus to ourselves. Every day there is evidence of how much God loves you and every day there are people who need to hear how much he loves them too.

Eight-day plans

10-day plans

  • The Glory of God in Heaven: As Christians, we grow up hearing stories about Jesus, who ultimately died in our place, and rose again from death to guarantee our resurrection to heaven. We have the wisdom and knowledge to understand that heaven is our home. We will see the Glory of God in heaven.

11-day plans

  • Sharing the Joy: Devotions based on Paul’s Letter to the Philippians: When there doesn’t seem a reason to have joy, not to mention to share it, remember God’s Word is unwavering. It speaks to every time and every situation.

12-day plans

  • A Reminder That God Will Provide: We’ve heard it before, God will provide. But what exactly will he provide us? The answer is simple, whatever we need.
  • Imagine Heaven: We have many questions about what life be like in heaven. Devotions focus on heaven and answers the questions on what heaven will be like.

13-day plans

  • The Twelve Days of Christmas: Devotions share the message behind each verse in the well-known Christmas carol “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”
