Hearing God’s word on a daily basis
Before heading off to work most mornings, Hope residents have the opportunity to hear God’s word. Every morning, Pastor Patrick Feldhus visits each Hope living area to share a devotion. He recently joined the team as Chaplain.
“With my morning devotions, not only I am to share the good news of Jesus with the majority of Hope residents but many overnight team members are also able to listen,” said Pastor Feldhus.
In addition to morning devotions, Pastor Feldhus provides Bible studies, worship services, devotions and personal visit for residents, family members and team members at Hope.
“Our residents have really been enjoying and benefiting from daily devotions with Pastor Feldhus,” said Debra Wilbright, Director of Disability Services. “They are getting to know him more and more. I’m excited for the role he will play in the lives of our residents while caring for their souls.”
This role was perfect for Pastor Feldhus as he has experience sharing Christ with individuals with developmental disabilities as his youngest daughter Moriah has developmental disabilities. His wife, Debra joined the Hope team as a Direct Support Professional.
“We both really appreciate Hope’s emphasis on the care of the soul. I’ve always felt if you take care of one’s spiritual life, it will have a positive effect on one’s physical life,” said Pastor Feldhus.
